TOOTH WHITENING TIPS FOR SUCCESS

1. You should have your teeth checked by a dentist before you begin whitening your teeth.
You must be free of decay and gum disease. Also your dentist can advise you about recession and sensitivity. Click here to read a professional link about sensitivity. If you have decay or serious gum problems PLEASE have those problems corrected first. You will be very happy that you did because using whiteners, even Totally White Smile, can cause sensitivity if it gets into a decayed tooth or you have root exposure and haven't followed the recommended sensitive protocol for whtening first.
2. You need to have a reasonable expectation about whitening what can be achieved with any whitening procedure. Everyone seems to want to have STARK WHITE teeth. This is a very unnatural look and often creates a NEGATIVE RESPONSE when people see your teeth and your smile. They won't tell you but they are thinking its really too much. Most people see the movie stars with STARK WHITE TEETH but in reality they are just a natural white with a lot of reflectivity. The cameras are flashing and what you see is the flash reflecting off those beautiful teeth. We at TotallyWhiteSmile want your teeth to be a naturally beautiful white not STARK WHITE. Remember too white is just not attractive. There are two other problems with being too white. The first is too much bleaching (overwhitening) causes severe sensitivity and can be non-reversible. The last problem is with your dentist. Overwhitening your teeth can create a problem for your dentist if he has to make a Porcelain CAP or do a tooth colored filling. He or she does have colors that can match over bleached teeth, but if you overbleached then you may end up with a cap or filling that is darker than your teeth. In other words stick to the colors on the SHADE GUIDE. If you get to the top white color on the shade guide then you don't need to go any further.
3. The product you use should be biocompatible, have flexibility so as to control sensitivity, not cause gum irritation, and produce excellent results. That product is Totally White Smile.
